The Role of an Eli5 Frontend Developer

At Eli5, frontend developers bring designs to life and ensure seamless user interactions. You’ll work closely with backend developers and designers, playing a vital role in delivering high-quality products. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Creating maintainable and extendable front-end solutions.
• Defining and scoping the front-end part of our projects, both with the team and with clients.
• Delivering a high-quality product with your team.
• Collaborating with backend developers and designers in project teams.
• Optimizing and refactoring backend APIs with the team to ensure effective front-end products.
• Advising clients and product owners about the technical pros and cons within the product strategy.
• Ensuring alignment with designers and other developers.

The Essential Stuff

We’re looking for someone who can confidently tackle frontend development challenges, combining technical skills with a passion for creating user-friendly interfaces. This role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering excellent work. Here’s what we’re specifically looking for:

• A strong interest in new technologies and staying up-to-date with the latest software developments.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and essential Typescript/JavaScript skills.
• Professional experience with frontend Typescript/JavaScript frameworks such as VueJS, ReactJS, or NuxtJS.
• Experience with multiple build solutions such as Vite, Webpack, Gulp and similar. 
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• A history of working in multi-disciplinary product development teams and understanding the workflows involved.
• A flexible mindset and a genuine desire to ensure the quality of your team’s output.
• Attention to detail and the ability to analyze and interpret data.
• An organized and self-motivated approach, with the ability to meet both short- and long-term deadlines.
• A degree in software engineering or equivalent work experience.

• Experience implementing software design patterns.
• Knowledge of Laravel, Django, .NET, or similar backend frameworks.
• Familiarity with package managers like npm, yarn, pip, or composer.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (DevOps).
• Object-oriented programming experience. 
• Familiarity with isolated development environments like Docker, VirtualBox, or Vagrant.
• Experience leveraging AI and productivity tools to speed up development in a professional environment.
