Eli5 is a boutique product and software studio specializing in business-critical software for Startups, Corporate Innovators, Venture Builders, and next-gen GovTech. We’re intentionally small, allowing us to work closely with clients for the long haul. The Role of a Product Designer at Eli5
As a Product Designer, you’ll be instrumental in shaping our products from concept to execution. You’ll work across the entire design spectrum, covering user research, interaction design, UI design, and design systems, bringing products to life with a focus on both form and function.
- Drive end-to-end product design, from discovery and research to polished UI and handoff.
- Work closely with engineers, leadership, and stakeholders to create user-friendly and scalable designs.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity product designs that align with business goals.
- Maintain and evolve design systems to ensure consistency across products.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Advocate for user needs while balancing business and technical constraints.
- Work iteratively, refining and improving designs based on feedback and data.
- Communicate design decisions and rationale to clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure seamless handoff to developers with well-documented designs and components.
The Essential Stuff
We want a product-minded designer who can think beyond just the interface and consider the bigger picture of how products function and scale. Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Product Designer or UX/UI Designer, with a portfolio showcasing real-world product work.
- Strong proficiency in Figma and experience managing design systems.
- A deep understanding of user experience principles and interaction design.
- Strong visual design skills with an eye for typography, layout, and branding.
- Experience designing for web and mobile applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Clear, confident communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Bonus Points For
These additional capabilities will make you stand out even more. If you bring any of the following to the table, we'd love to hear about it:
- Experience in motion design and interactive prototyping.
- Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for better collaboration with developers.
- Experience with customer development, design sprints, and other ideation and validation methodologies.
- Experience with leading design projects, and taking the lead in client communication during validation and design stages of projects.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
