Eli5 is a boutique product and software studio working on business-critical software for Startups, Corporate Innovators, Venture Builders, and GovTech. We’re small by design, giving us the freedom to work closely with clients for the long haul. Our projects often span years, helping us build meaningful relationships and products that make an actual difference.

We focus on products that enhance productivity, intuitive and pleasant user experience, and refined but simplistic aesthetics. We approach projects with a tech-agnostic mindset, so we choose the tools that best fit the solution and the client’s organization. While we’re remote-first, we have an office in central Amsterdam for when in-person collaboration sparks better ideas.

The role of a UX Designer at Eli5

As a UX Designer at Eli5, you’ll collaborate with engineers, other designers, and stakeholders to create user-friendly products that deliver real value. From wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes, you’ll bring concepts to life and ensure that user needs are always at the forefront. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Conduct user research to understand pain points, needs, and behaviors.
• Design intuitive user interfaces and flows based on research insights.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity product designs that align with project goals.
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure design feasibility and implementation.
• Facilitate usability testing and iterate based on feedback.
• Communicate design decisions and rationale to clients and stakeholders.
• Maintain and evolve design systems for consistency across projects.

The essential stuff

We’re looking for a UX Designer who thrives on solving problems and creating beautiful, functional designs. This role requires empathy for users, a keen eye for detail, and a collaborative spirit. Here’s what we’re specifically looking for:

• Proven experience in UX design with a strong portfolio of relevant work.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
• Strong visual design skills and an eye for aesthetics.
• Experience with conducting user research and usability testing.
• Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive, self-motivated attitude and the ability to manage multiple projects.
